Carmina_Urbana
Concerto

110 years after St James’s Hall was demolished to make way for the Industrial Revolution, we brought its legendary orchestra back to the ground it was built on.

The home of the Philharmonic society and London’s principle concert venue between 1859-1905 is now an anonymous business district, lacking a single trace of the magnificent institution it once was.
We brought the music back.
Casting oblivious commuters as our instrumentalists, CARMINA URBANA is a durational and interactive video project – designed to restore the (beautiful) past to the present.
Made in collaboration with Leah Eggleton.

Contact us if you know of anywhere to exhibit CARMINA URBANA, other than just our website! We’d love that to happen…
